How to Check Your EOIR Case Status Online
Follow these three simple steps to check the status of your immigration court case with the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR).
Find your A-Number
Your A-Number (alien registration number) is the 9-digit number printed on your immigration documents such as your Notice to Appear, EAD work permit, or USCIS receipt notices. It usually starts with “A” followed by 8–9 digits — enter only the digits.
Select your nationality
Choose the country listed in your immigration court records — normally your country of birth. EOIR combines your A-Number and nationality to pull up the right case file.
View your case status instantly
See your case type, next hearing date and time, hearing location, court contact information, and any decisions — all pulled live from the EOIR Automated Case Information System (ACIS).
EOIR Case Status by A-Number
The fastest way to check your EOIR case status online is with your A-Number. Every immigrant placed in removal proceedings receives an alien registration number, and EOIR's Automated Case Information System (ACIS) uses that number — together with your nationality — to find your case.
If your A-Number has fewer than 9 digits, pad it with leading zeros. For example, A12345678 becomes 012345678. The letter “A” itself is never entered. If your search returns no case, verify that your nationality matches what EOIR has on file — the same A-Number with a different nationality will return no results.

What Is EOIR and the ACIS Case Information System?
The Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR) is the agency within the U.S. Department of Justice that runs the nation's immigration courts and the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA). If you are in removal (deportation) proceedings, your case is managed by an EOIR immigration court.
ACIS — the Automated Case Information system — is EOIR's official phone and web service that provides basic case information: case status, hearing dates, and case decisions. This website gives you a fast, mobile-friendly way to search that same case information online in English or Spanish.
This site is an independent tool and is not operated by EOIR or the U.S. Department of Justice. For the official government system visit acis.eoir.justice.gov.

An A-Number (alien registration number) is the unique number USCIS assigns to immigrants, printed on your Notice to Appear, EAD work permit, green card, and USCIS notices. EOIR requires all 9 digits — if your number has 7 or 8 digits, add zeros in front. Example: A12345678 → 012345678.

How often is EOIR case status information updated?
Case information comes from EOIR's Automated Case Information System and is updated as immigration courts enter new data, typically each business day. Hearing dates and decisions usually appear in the system within 24–48 hours of being entered by the court.
My EOIR case was not found. What should I do?
First, verify that your A-Number is exactly 9 digits (add leading zeros if shorter) and that you selected the correct nationality. New cases can take days to appear in the system. If your case still does not appear, contact your local immigration court directly using the phone number listed on your court notices.
Can I check the status of my BIA appeal?
Yes. If your case has been appealed to the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA), the results will show that the case is pending at the BIA along with any appeal deadlines, brief due dates, and BIA decisions when available.
